Agruminato

An ”Agruminato” is a citrus fruits garden, typical of the Sorrento Peninsula; its location is special, as it is situated in the centre of the town of Sorrento. Born as Fondo Petrulo, belonging in the past to Excelsior Vittoria Hotel, later to the shipbuilder Achille Lauro, stretched for a surface of ca. 60.000 sq. m .

Nowadays a part of the estate (ca. 11.000 sq. m .), miraculously rescued from the building speculation of the 60s and 70s, has been bought by the municipality of Sorrento which, at the beginning of the 3 rd Millennium, inaugurated it and opened it to the public. The rescue of this last town green shows that the awareness of traditional values to be preserved and known by everybody is being gained.

Today the Farm “I Giardini di Cataldo” takes care of the garden and uses its citrus fruits to produce fresh drinks and refined liqueurs whose flavours are really unmistakable.
